Summer B Move Out

Summer B term ends on August 9, 2025. All residents must vacate their space by noon on Saturday, August 9.

Checkout Information

  • All residents are expected to vacate their rooms 24 hours after their last exam or by noon on August 9, whichever comes first.
  • A limited number of courtesy carts will be available on a first-come, first-served bases during move-out. We recommend bringing your own based on our limited availability.
  • Residents with an active fall assignment who wish to stay on campus until Atala Hall opens for fall must refer to the Break Stay section for additional instructions.

Completing your checkout

ATTEND YOUR CLOSING FLOOR MEETING

  • Residents must attend their designated closing floor meeting led by their RA. The closing floor meeting will be held during the week of July 28, 2025 in the 6th Floor Community Kitchen Lounge.
  • Attendance is required and will be recorded. If you miss your meeting, your RA will follow up with you individually.
  • Your RA will post the meeting date and time on the floor bulletin boards.

SIGN UP FOR YOUR ROOM MOVE-OUT CHECK

  • After your floor meeting, you must sign up for a move-out room check with your RA. Sign-up sheets will be posted outside of your RA’s door and pre-filled with available 30-minute time slots.
  • If a listed time slot is not available for when you want to complete your move-out room check, please speak directly with your RA to coordinate a day/time.
  • Residents who do not sign up during the meeting must do so as soon as possible. RAs will conduct additional outreach prior to closing for those who have not signed up.

COMPLETE YOUR ROOM MOVE-OUT CHECKLIST

  • Remove all personal belongings from your room. Any abandoned property will be disposed of after 30 days and will result in a checkout charge.
  • If you have items to donate, consider local donation centers.
  • Take your bike with you, or it will be disposed of.
  • Return all furniture to its original position. A fee may apply for unassembled or moved furniture.
  • Remove all posters, tape, nails, and hooks from walls, windows, and mirrors.
  • Clean your room thoroughly, including floors, appliances, bathrooms and common areas.
  • Take out all trash and place it in the appropriate dumpster or floor trash room.
  • Set your thermostat to idle at 70°F and lower blinds to the closed position.
  • If you are the first to check out from your room/apartment, have your roommate present if possible to clarify responsibility for any damages.

  • Take photos of your room’s condition for your records.

  • Update your forwarding address in the Housing Portal.

  • Complete your move-out room check with your RA.

CART CHECK-OUT AND MAIL SERVICE

  • Carts will be available for check-out at the Campus Student Center Information Desk during open hours.
  • Mail will be available to residents during normal desk hours.
