TWO Outstanding Fall Graduates FROM USF SARASOTA-MANATEE SHARE THEIR STORIES

The University of South Florida will award more than 4,400 degrees to students from all three campuses during fall commencement ceremonies on Friday, Dec. 8, and Saturday, Dec. 9 at the Yuengling Center on the Tampa campus. 

Among those graduating are the outstanding Thomas Burt and Rachel Cacace of the College of Education at USF Sarasota-Manatee, whose stories illustrate the value of graduate education.

USF alum named Principal of the Year in Manatee County

The School District of Manatee County named USF Sarasota-Manatee alum Joshua Bennett Principal of the Year. Bennett, who has served as the principal for Braden River Elementary School since 2019, graduated from USF in 1999 and 2004.

Campus Housing — Applications to live in the new student center and residence hall at USF Sarasota-Manatee are now open. Apply today.

Commencement — Fall 2023 Commencement is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 8 and Saturday, Dec. 9 and will be held at the Yuengling Center on the Tampa campus for students from all three USF campuses.

Winter Break —  USF will close on Dec. 21 for winter break. The university will reopen on Jan. 2.

Week of Welcome — USF will celebrate Week of Welcome Jan. 8-12. Events on the Sarasota-Manatee campus will include a food truck rally, cupcake decorating, mini golf and more. For the latest updates and information, visit BullsConnect. 

Bullpen — Hosted by the Office of Student Engagement, Bullpen is an opportunity for students to learn how to join clubs, get involved and connect with the Sarasota-Manatee campus. The fair will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 24, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Fill out the registration form no later than Wednesday, Jan. 17, to host a table.
