Faculty / Staff Start-Up

NetID

As with students, all faculty and staff are assigned a NetID, which can be activated once their records are complete in the HR system. It acts as an electronic passport, giving you access to a variety of online services offered at through the university system. To create an activate your NetID, navigate to the NetID Services webpage and select “Activate your USF NetID”.

Email

All faculty and staff are assigned an official @usf.edu email account based on their NetID. Once you activate your NetID, you will be given the option to choose your official USF email address.

You can access your email through your email client (for example, Microsoft Outlook), or online via your MyUSF page (described below) or by navigating directly to the Outlook Web App. If you need help configuring your email client, please contact the Technology Services help desk.

Telecom (Phones)

Technology Services maintains all telecom hardware throughout the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee campuses. For hardware installation, removal, maintenance, or questions, please contact the help desk for assistance.

MyUSF

MyUSF acts as a single point of access for a variety of important university web services, including your email and online class materials (i.e. Canvas). You’ll also find important announcements here, and you can access NetID services or GEMS (for tracking payroll and employee records) from this page.

BOX

All faculty and staff with a valid Net ID will have access to box.com.

Virtual Apps

As a USF Sarasota-Manatee campus faculty or staff member, you can access a variety of programs for free (including Adobe CS5, Microsoft Office, and many others) directly over the internet. Visit the USF Application Gateway to get started.

Printing on Campus

Faculty and staff at  the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus are given a copy code for access to designated printing stations located throughout the building. Workstations provided by Technology Services and those located in adjunct offices will be configured to access these machines by default. Your copy code permission will be assigned by your office administrator.
