Sarasota-Manatee campus will co-host Women’s Summit, celebrate International Women’s Day

The University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee campus and Gulfside Wealth will co-host the second annual Women’s Summit from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on March 8 in the Selby Auditorium.

The summit will feature a networking breakfast and a slate of panel discussions on leadership, women in male-dominated industries and managing burnout and imposter syndrome. Marrie Neumer, associate vice president for university advancement and former head coach for the women’s swimming and diving team at Cornell University, will facilitate a keynote chat with three-time Olympic gold medalist and Tampa native Brooke Bennett.

Special guests and panelists will include musician and entertainer Shantel Norman; Brandee Daly, founder and CEO of KnightSwan Acquisition Corp.; Lisa Penney, a professor in the School of Information Systems and Management on the Sarasota-Manatee campus; and Vickie Cleaves-Gregory, founder of Totally Nuts Almond Mylk.

The summit coincides with International Women’s Day, a global celebration of women and their social, economic, cultural and political achievements — and an annual call to accelerate gender parity across the globe. This year, the global campaign is calling on audiences to embrace equity with the hashtag, #EmbraceEquity.
