TedxUSFSM Issues Call for Speakers

If you or someone you know has a compelling story to tell or an idea to share, TEDxUSFSM is the perfect forum for that message. The theme of this year’s event is “Investing in Our Future,” and it is designed to explore innovative ideas that will enrich the future of the audience and the Sarasota-Manatee region.

TEDxUSFSM will take place on Feb. 25, 2021, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in Selby Auditorium at USF Sarasota-Manatee, 8350 North Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, FL 34243. The planning team is currently seeking dynamic and diverse speakers for the event. Anyone who has an interest in speaking is encouraged to apply at tedxusfsm.com by July 31, 2020.

“Successfully planning for the future is a universal desire. This year, we would like to showcase the inspiring individuals within our community that can contribute to the betterment of our audiences’ future. In turn, the audience will implement the strategies and ideas they learn from this event into their own life and the lives of those around them,” said Hannah Pogue, planning team member of TEDxUSFSM.

TED is an organization devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks under 18 minutes long, and a TEDx event is an independently organized version of these talks. Speakers are not allowed to promote business or endorse products according to TED guidelines. TEDxUSFSM is a student-led initiative sponsored by USF Sarasota-Manatee’s Student Government with support from a team of faculty and staff. Last year’s TEDxUSFSM event, “Defining Your Legacy” drew a capacity crowd. For more information about the event and how to attend, visit tedxusfsm.com.
