‘USF GIVING DAY AT USFSM’ TO SUPPORT STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS

Celebrate Rocky D. Bull’s birthday and help make a difference in students’ lives by being a part of “USF Giving Day at USFSM” on Thursday.

Making its debut at USFSM, Giving Day is a special annual fundraiser designed to give faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of USF the opportunity to support the areas they care about most.

As Rocky celebrates his birthday, he’s asking his USFSM friends to help by making a gift any time through the end of the day Thursday. Any gift, no matter the size, can make a difference, which is why we’re challenging the USF community to lend a hand. Our campus goal is 100 donations.

Donations can be made through our HerdFunder page, usf.to/usfsm19, or in person on Thursday from noon to 3 p.m. at the Student Commons, where we’ll be celebrating Rocky’s birthday!

Supporters can choose between two worthwhile funds, both designed to encourage students to complete their education:

  • The USFSM Stay the Course Scholarship helps students who may live independently and need help during a financial emergency. This scholarship can make a difference to students struggling with whether to pay rent, and other day-to-day expenses, or tuition to complete their college degree.
  • The USFSM Veterans Supplemental Fund aims to help those who’ve served our country and protected our freedoms. By supporting this fund, you’re helping to defray college-related costs and ensure their success beyond service. Those costs add up, which is why they need your help.

To get the contributions rolling, a friend of Rocky’s is issuing a matching-support challenge to the USFSM community. This anonymous donor will donate a $1 for every donation up to the first 50 donations.

So please come out and support USFSM students. Go Bulls!
