FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS
Muma College of Business
(Up to $3,000, per semester) To qualify, applicants must be enrolled as an undergraduate degree-seeking student at the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. Preference will be given to students in the College of Business who complete at least one semester at USF, have at least a 3.0 USF GPA and 3.0 overall GPA and enroll in a USF Muma College of Business Study Abroad Program.
(Up to $2,000 annually, awarded spring/fall) Student must be a Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee or Sarasota resident and a degree-seeking student enrolled at the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus for a minimum of six credit hours (five hours for graduate students) as an accounting major. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA.
(Up to $500 annually, awarded spring/fall) To offer scholarships to full- or part-time students, who are currently undergraduate seniors enrolled in the Muma College of Business Honors Program at the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. The scholarship is based on merit; candidates will have an overall GPA of 3.5 and will have been accepted into the honors section of the capstone course GEB 4890. This scholarship can be awarded for one semester. Application, review and acceptance into the program is at the discretion of the program review committee. (GEB 4890 is capstone course: Strategic Management/Decision Making)
(Up to $1,000 annually, awarded spring/fall) To offer scholarships to full- or part-time students at all academic levels pursuing all majors in the USF Muma College of Business on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. The scholarship is based on merit and can be awarded for two semesters. The scholarship is for students enrolled in Property & Casualty Insurance Operations and/or Risk Management & Insurance.
(Up to $1,000 annually, awarded spring/fall) To provide scholarships and/or stipends to students and graduate research assistants in International Business Studies at the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. Scholarship criteria; full- or part-time students at any academic level pursuing an International Business major in the Muma College of Business on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus.
(Up to $1,000, awarded spring/fall) Open only to undergraduate students pursuing any major in the Muma College Business or the School of Hospitality & Tourism Management. Student must be enrolled in at least six USF Sarasota-Manatee campus credit hours with an overall GPA of 3.0. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established.
(Up to $1,000 annually, awarded spring/fall) Operating funds to develop the accounting program and accounting scholarships at the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus.
School of Hospitality & Tourism management
(Up to $2,000, awarded spring/fall) Open only to graduate, degree-seeking students in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Student must be enrolled in at least five USF Sarasota-Manatee campus credit hours and must have an overall GPA of 3.0. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established.
(Up to $1,000, awarded spring/fall) Open only to undergraduate students pursuing any major in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Student must be enrolled in at least 12 USF Sarasota-Manatee campus credit hours with an overall GPA of 3.0. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established.
(Up to $2,000 annually, awarded spring/fall) Student must be a Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee or Sarasota resident and a degree-seeking student enrolled at least half time (five hours) on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus as a Graduate Hospitality Management major. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 3.5 GPA. Open to graduate students only.
(Up to $1,500 annually, awarded spring/fall) Student must be a Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee or Sarasota resident and a degree-seeking student enrolled at least half time (six hours) on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus as a Hospitality Management major. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 2.5 GPA. Open to all undergraduate students.
(Up to $1,000, awarded spring/fall) Open only to undergraduate students pursuing any major in the Muma College Business or the School of Hospitality & Tourism Management. Student must be enrolled in at least six USF Sarasota-Manatee campus credit hours with an overall GPA of 3.0. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established.
To provide merit scholarships to out-of-state transfer students enrolled in the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus.
College of Arts & Sciences
(Up to $1000 annually, Fall and Spring semesters) Student must be undergraduate degree-seeking in a major in the College of Arts & Sciences and enrolled in at least 6 Sarasota-Manatee campus hours. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA. This fund is in honor of Dr. Robert Barylski, first Dean and CEO of the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus.
(Up to $1,000 annually, Fall and Spring semesters) Student must be a degree-seeking student enrolled at least part-time in the Master's in Social Work program at the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA. Open to graduate students only.
Student must be pursuing a degree in Criminology or Criminal Justice Administration and enrolled at least part time (six credits undergraduate, five credits graduate). A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA.
College of Education
This scholarship is for junior and senior-level students in the College of Education. Students must be a degree-seeking student enrolled at least half time (six credits) on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA.
(Up to $2,500, fall and spring semesters) Student must be undergraduate degree-seeking and enrolled in at least 6 Sarasota-Manatee campus hours. Student must be admitted to the College of Education and must be a single parent raising K-16 child(ren). A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA.
(Up to $1,000 annually, Fall and Spring Semesters) This scholarship is for junior and senior-level students in the College of Education. Student must be a degree-seeking student enrolled at least half time (6 credits) on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA. This fund is in honor of Kathleen Thorson’s 30 years of teaching in elementary education.
(Provides funding to meet awardees’ unmet financial need) Student must be a Manatee County resident pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree and a career in the field of education. Student must have been approved for financial aid and possess a minimum 2.5 GPA (undergraduate) or 3.0 GPA (graduate) and display evidence of community service activities and leadership role(s).
(Up to $2,600, spring and fall) Student must be degree seeking and accepted into a College of Education degree program and in good standing. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 for undergraduate and graduate students. Student must enrolled at least half time (six credits undergraduate/five credits graduate) on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus.
(Up to $2,000 annually, spring/fall) Student must be a Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee or Sarasota resident and a degree-seeking student enrolled at least half time (6 credits) on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus in the College of Education. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA. The semester award will be prorated based on the number of hours enrolled on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. Open to all undergraduate students.
School of Natural Sciences & Math
To support scholarships for full-time undergraduate students, pursuing all majors, in the School of Natural Sciences & Math, on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. This scholarship is based on merit with a preference for financial need and can be awarded two semesters.
(Up to $1,000, spring/fall) Manatee Memorial Hospital is providing this scholarship to support students enrolled in the School of Natural Sciences & Math at the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. This support is to help students enter a variety of health professions and to prepare them for advanced degrees in the health sciences. This scholarship is open to half-time undergraduate and graduate students. Students must be degree-seeking, have a minimum GPA of 3.0. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established.
General Scholarships
(Up to $1,500 annually, spring/fall) Student must be a Sarasota or Manatee County resident and a degree-seeking student. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must be enrolled at least half time (6 hours) on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus and have an overall 3.0 GPA.
Open to any graduate, degree-seeking students at the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. Student must be enrolled in at least five USF Sarasota-Manatee campus credit hours and must have an overall GPA of 3.0. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established.
Up to $1,000 annually, Fall and Spring Semesters) Student must be a Sarasota or Manatee County resident and a degree-seeking student. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to members of the ASID and/or their families.
(Up to $250, one semester) Student must be undergraduate enrolled in 6 USF Sarasota-Manatee campus credit hours and be a degree-seeking student. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established.
(Up to $1,000 annually, spring/fall) Student must be a Sarasota or Manatee County resident and a degree-seeking student. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must be enrolled at least half time (6 hours) on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus and have an overall 2.5 GPA. Open to all undergraduate students. *Selected Brunch on the Bay Scholarship recipients from the School of Education will be named Mary and Earl Watts Scholars each academic year.
(Up to $1,000 annually, spring/fall) Student must be enrolled at least half time (6 hours) and be a degree-seeking student. Applicants should document their interest and/or participation in triathlons. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA. Triathlon club is willing to provide training/coaching to future tri-athletes. Volunteer support of triathlons is encouraged. Open to all students!
(Up to $600, summer only) Student must be newly admitted for summer as an undergraduate degree-seeking student. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must be enrolled at least half time (6 hours) on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus and have a minimum overall 2.75 GPA.
(Up to $2,000 annually, spring/fall) Student must be a Charlotte, DeSoto, Manatee or Sarasota resident and a degree-seeking student enrolled at least half time (6 hours) on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. A current year FAFSA must be completed and financial need established. Student must have an overall 3.0 GPA. The semester award will be prorated based on the number of hours enrolled on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. Open to all undergraduate students.
Students must complete a 250 or less words essay in which they share about their experience coming from a migrant farm family. Open to students enrolled with the home campus of Sarasota-Manatee. Students must be first generation, can be full or part time, all levels, all colleges and all majors. This scholarship can be repeated up to 8 semesters.
