Ranjith Korala Gamage is an Instructor of chemistry in the Biology program at the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry at University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka, and he completed a master’s degree in Chemistry at City University of New York, where his research focused on development of cell-active non-peptidyl inhibitors of cysteine cathepsins - analyzing synthesized compounds using different NMR techniques.
Prior to his arrival at the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus, he was laboratory coordinator and adjunct lecturer at Medgar Evers College, CUNY, where he coordinated chemistry laboratories and taught organic and general chemistry laboratory courses. At USF Sarasota Manatee he teaches General Chemistry I and II laboratory courses and Chemistry for Today.
Ranjith enjoys playing cricket and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with students.
