Dr. Kochman recently defended her dissertation titled "Trauma and Aging: Dramatic Women Escaping the Presumption of Decline" at Florida State University, School of Theatre. She has presented papers at ATHE, MLA, and the Comparative Drama Conference and regularly participates in ASTR's Traumatic Structures and Pedagogy of Extraordinary Bodies working groups. As a theatre practitioner, Dr. Kochman co-created and assistant directed a verbatim theatre project titled One Hundred Years of Hope, which interrogated issues of age and racial violence in the United States. She currently serves as dramaturg for The Mickee Faust Academy for the REALLY Dramatic Arts original production of The Mystery of the Violated Vagina-- an absurd, queer, camp musical that takes on the serious issue of sexual assault and trauma.
