The Duvall Community Newsletter
The Duvall Community Newsletter is a quarterly publication that connects stakeholders across behavioral health, prevention, and human services sectors.
Each issue includes:
- Local, state, and national funding opportunities
- Research highlights and applied scholarship updates
- Community partner spotlights
- Strategic calls to action
- Updates on Initiative activities and regional priorities
The newsletter functions as an infrastructure tool for maintaining regional alignment and sustaining collaborative momentum between formal convenings.
The Duvall Conference
The Duvall Conference is the Initiative’s flagship regional convening, bringing together community leaders, researchers, practitioners, policymakers, peer professionals, and students for a full-day, practice-forward learning experience.
Each year, the conference centers on a focused behavioral health theme such as substance misuse prevention, peer workforce integration, or systems redesign, and combines keynote addresses, community health forums, applied learning sessions, and interactive engagement opportunities. The event is designed to:
- Advance research-informed practice
- Elevate community-defined priorities
- Highlight workforce development needs
- Strengthen cross-sector collaboration
- Provide Continuing Education Units (CEs) for professionals
The conference also includes the presentation of the Duvall Community Impact Awards, recognizing outstanding contributions to family and community health.
The Duvall Pre-Conference Dinner
Held in advance of the annual conference, the Duvall Pre-Conference Dinner is an invitation-based leadership event that convenes planning partners, keynote speakers, community leaders, and institutional stakeholders.
The evening serves to:
- Recognize the collaborative work of planning committees
- Introduce conference themes and strategic priorities
- Strengthen professional relationships across sectors
- Celebrate community leadership and shared progress
The dinner reinforces the Initiative’s commitment to relationship-building as a foundation for sustainable systems change.
The Duvall Training Institute
The Duvall Training Institute delivers focused, skill-based professional development aligned with emerging workforce and systems needs in behavioral and community health.
- Training offerings are practice-oriented and may include:
- Prevention workforce development
- Peer integration models
- Organizational readiness and implementation strategies
- Community-academic partnership development
- Evidence-informed systems planning
The Institute is designed to strengthen frontline capacity while supporting long-term structural improvement within local human service systems.
