CICS Prairie personalizes learning, and prioritizes family partnerships and social-emotional learning. Our team works collaboratively to support student wellness and growth, and the combined efforts of our students, staff, and families help build a strong culture of love and care.The mission of CICS Prairie, in partnership with families and communities, is to develop our 21st century learners by providing authentic STEM education experiences through effective implementation of innovative and interactive learning programs. CICS Prairie inspires students and cultivates a passion for contributing to the greater good of the global community. Our vision is to close the achievement gap by increasing the number of high achieving charter schools and consequently the opportunities for low-income children to succeed in school, in college, and in life. Chicago Academy for the Arts

Designated a National School of Distinction by the John F. Kennedy Center, The Academy offers students the opportunity to engage in a unique co-curricular program: rigorous, college-preparatory academic classes and professional-level arts training in the context of an unparalleled school culture. The Academy’s school day consists of a modified block schedule of three 75-minute blocks of academic courses and a 45-minute flex period followed by a three-plus hour immersion in a student's chosen arts department: Dance, Media Arts (filmmaking, animation, creative writing), Music, Musical Theatre, Theatre, and Visual Arts. At The Chicago Academy for the Arts, young artists master the skills necessary for academic success, critical thought, and creative expression.

Largo Middle IB World School

Largo Middle IB World School’s Middle Years IB programme provides an intellectually challenging environment that encourages students to become critical and reflective thinkers in preparation for success in college, careers, and citizenship in the 21st century global environment. The International Baccalaureate Program is designed to help middle school students find a sense of belonging in the changing and increasingly interrelated world around them and to foster a positive attitude toward learning and service to others. Visible Men Academy

The mission of VMA is to provide boys with outstanding academic, character, and social education in a nurturing school environment.The purpose of VMA is to deliver a high-quality educational experience that meets the specific needs of at-risk elementary school boys through the collaborative efforts of administrators, teachers, parents, the broader community, and the students themselves.

The VMA vision is to lead boys toward a realization of their innate strong character – boys who are family oriented, community conscious, and globally aware. Through a firm foundation of intellectual and academic diligence, VMA students are equipped to meet and exceed the expectations of challenging middle and high school environments and are eager and determined to pursue college education. Through the rigorous modeling experience of the Visible Men Success Curriculum, VMA students gain vast exposure to future personal and career possibilities. Sandy Lane Elementary Conservatory for the Arts

The Conservatory for the Arts at Sandy Lane is an Arts Integration school. Our focus is the quality of the Visual and Performing Arts as its own curriculum as well as infusing the Arts in the General Education Classroom. The goal of Arts Integration is to increase knowledge and achievement of a general subject area (Math, Science, ELA) while simultaneously fostering appreciation, understanding and achievement of the Visual and Performing Arts.

Southwestern Academy 

Flint Southwestern Classical Academy exists to develop a community of diverse learners who are committed to academic and personal excellence. An International Baccalaureate school that aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, government and international organizations to develop challenging programs of international education and rigorous assessment. These programs encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

  • (2 Remote and 2 In-Person) $150 stipend each
  • Professional Development opportunities to attend In-Person Summer Institute in Sarasota, Florida (airfare and hotel covered)

Regional schools around or near Flint area schools, Chicago (Distinctive schools- Detroit and Chicago area), and Florida (Sarasota and Bradenton) schools
