Transition process update from Jean Kabongo and Brian Verkamp

Dear USF colleagues,

On Monday, letters were sent via DocuSign to non-faculty employees to inform them whether their roles are needed on the Sarasota-Manatee teach-out team. Whether someone is needed in a teach-out capacity depends on the nature of the position and whether the role is essential to the university’s ability to carry out its mission at the teach-out site. If your role is not required for the teach-out program, it does not mean your employment with USF has been terminated.

Employees not identified as required for the teach-out should use the resources the university offers while continuing to perform their current roles. We encourage employees to review the FAQs on the Sarasota-Manatee transition website to learn more about the position matching and exit incentive processes and timelines. These processes are also covered in the slides from last week’s listening session. Click here to view the PDF.

We appreciate everyone who continues to support colleagues with compassion and care as our university moves forward and welcomes new and returning students across the Tampa Bay region.

Please take a moment to review these additional Sarasota-Manatee transition updates.

  • Effective today, Wednesday, Aug. 19, facilities work order requests will be managed through New College's Asset Essentials system. Open work orders in USF’s FAMIS will be reviewed and completed as appropriate. To submit a work order at the SM teach-out site, email any of these designated departmental contacts for assistance.
  • The SMC floor plan has been updated to account for the building’s shared-use status as the fall semester gets underway. Click here to view the new floor plan and share the link with anyone who needs to view/print it.
  • The bronze bull statue has been uninstalled from the fountain for refurbishment by its original sculptor. Once restored, it will be permanently installed at its new home on the Tampa campus.
  • Do you have a question about the office move or workspace logistics? Email: SAR-RelocationInfo@usf.edu.
  • Do you need personalized assistance? Email: HR-SMSupport@usf.edu.
  • USF’s Employee Assistance Program is available to all employees, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

We encourage you to take advantage of HR’s weekly virtual office hours dedicated to supporting the transition process. Use the links below to join a meeting:
