Dr. Po-Lin Wang
Po-Lin Wang is an Assistant Professor in Risk Management and Insurance at the University of South Florida. He holds bachelor degrees in applied mathematics and management science from National Chiao Tung University, a master degree of math finance from Boston University, and a PhD in risk management and insurance from the University of Georgia. Prior to entering academia, he worked for Cathay Life Insurance Company in Taiwan and Cathay Conning Asset Management in Hong Kong, specializing in product development and asset liability management (ALM), economic capital (EC) model development, in particular. His research interests include mortality modeling, asset liability management, inter-generational risk transfer, and insurance market discipline. He publishes in top tier risk and insurance journals such as the Journal of Risk and Insurance (JRI), The North American Actuarial Journal (NAAJ), and Insurance: Mathematics and Economics (IME).
