AI-Enhanced Learning: Empowering Student Success
11 a.m.-noon Sept. 16, 2025, on Teams
When it comes to using generative A.I., there's a lot to think about! We want to show you how to responsibly and effectively integrate generative A.I. tools into your teaching practices, supported by USF's guidelines and resources.
In this workshop, we'll begin by covering USF's guidelines for ethical generative A.I. usage. We'll then explore various applications of A.I. in teaching and learning, such as creating content, including AI-generated media. You'll also learn best practices and "gotcha's" to watch for when working with these powerful tools.
INTRODUCTION TO ACCESSIBILITY
11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sept.18, 2025, on Teams
In this session, you'll learn what makes documents and recordings "accessible". You'll find out why you want to make your materials accessible, even if you don't have students with disability accommodations. We'll then explore the tools to help you get your files in shape, and wrap up by demonstrating easier fixes you can do now in Canvas and Word.
Bring Book Club Vibes to Your Course with Social Annotations
12-1 p.m. Sept. 25, 2025, on Teams
Want to boost student engagement with your course materials? Try social annotations! This approach lets students interact with content — and each other — “in the margins,” encouraging deeper reading, shared insights, and stronger learning communities. Think collaborative commenting on articles, videos, or podcasts using SpeedGrader-like annotation tools. In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to design these activities with practical strategies you can use right away.

2-3 p.m. Oct. 15, 2025, on Teams
Feeling bogged down by grading? Join us for a helpful workshop where you'll discover practical strategies to simplify your grading process without sacrificing quality. Whether you're managing multiple courses or just looking to free up more time for teaching, this session is packed with actionable tips to help you streamline your workflow and enhance feedback for your students.
The Chunking Effect: Simple Fixes for Better Video Learning
11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 5, 2025, on Teams
Join us for a fast-paced, one-hour session where we unpack the why and how of video chunking—breaking up long lectures into digestible, high-impact segments that stick. We’ll explore what the research says about attention spans, show off some before-and-after transformations, and offer easy, practical tips for enhancing your videos with interactive “bridges.” You’ll leave with ready-to-use guides, new inspiration, and the confidence to chunk like a pro—using the tools you already have.
Video and Accessibility
12-1 p.m. Nov. 13, 2025, on Teams
Making the videos in your course accessible goes beyond ensuring they have captions. Whether they are lecture or demo videos you made, or external ones such as YouTube videos you want students to watch, we'll cover them all. We'll start with all the pieces that need to be posted with the videos, and then go over tips when making your own or choosing external videos.
