About Rocky

  • On the original mascot ballot, Golden Braham (a type of bull) was misspelled as Golden Brahama (a chicken). Luckily that typo was fixed or we would be cheering on Rocky D. Chicken!

  • Some of the original proposed mascots included a rat, a camel and sting ray.

  • The Go Bulls! hand signal originated as a good luck ritual for free-throw shots during basketball games.

  • USF's Rocky D. Bull was officially established in 1986.

  • Rocky was the 2013 Capital One Mascot of the Year.

  • Rocky proudly wears USF school colors - green represents earth and gold symbolizes the Florida sun.

  • Rocky has had many looks over the years, the Rocky we know and love today was unveiled in 2003.
