Stoneybrook Masters Scholarship Fund

To offer scholarships to full and part-time graduate students, pursuing all majors, in all colleges, on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. This scholarship is based on merit and financial need and can be awarded for a total of 2 semesters only. The award can be up to $1,500 per semester (this amount is based on the board’s determination).

 Eligibility:

(Eligible students must meet the minimum criteria outlined below)

Pursuing a graduate (Masters’) degree from USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus:

  • Have at least a 3.0 overall (cumulative) GPA
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (attending as a full time or part time student)

Must be active duty, reservist, or a veteran:

  • Submit certified proof of military orders (for active duty & reservist)

Must be honorable discharge (veterans only):

  • Submit proof of honorable discharge (DD-214, Member 4)
  • Submit current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Submit the USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus “Student Veteran Scholarship” application
  • Submit a short essay (minimum of 250, maximum of 500 words) covering the following:
    • Introduction and background about yourself (military and personal)
    • Describe your financial need, and establish how this scholarship can assist you
    • What do you hope to accomplish with your degree and what are your academic goals?
    • Please provide an example of how you have demonstrated leadership (this does not have to be demonstrated through formal or traditional leadership roles).
    • Explain how you have carried these experiences forward in the classroom or in other University activities such as events, groups, and/or organizations?

Stoneybrook Internship Fund

To offer scholarships (in USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus sponsored internship programs) to full or part-time students, at all academic levels, pursuing all majors, in all colleges on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. This scholarship is based on merit and can be awarded for 1 semester only. The award is up to $1,800 per semester (this amount is based on the board’s determination).

 Eligibility:

(Eligible students must meet the minimum criteria outlined below)

  • Must be enrolled in a USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus sponsored internship program/class;
  • Pursuing a certification, or an undergraduate or graduate degree from USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus;
  •  Have at least a 2.75 overall (cumulative) GPA;
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (attending as a full time or part time student);

 Full or part time for certification is based on the certification program

  • Must be active duty, reservist, or a veteran;

Submit certified proof of military orders (for active duty & reservist)

  • Must be honorable discharge (veterans only)

 Submit proof of honorable discharge (DD-214, Member 4)

  • Submit the USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus “Student Veteran Scholarship” application

Joyce Ruben PAMFF Veterans Scholarship

To offer scholarships for full or part-time undergraduate students, pursuing all majors, in all colleges, on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. This scholarship is based on merit with a preference for financial need and can be awarded 2 semesters. USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus students who are eligible (honorably discharged) veteran and active duty military service members from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Coast Guard, including service in the National Guard and Reserve.

 Eligibility:

(Eligible students must meet the minimum criteria outlined below)

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree from USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus;
  • Attending USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus as a full time or part time student (undergraduate students only)

Must be active duty, reservist, or a veteran:

  • Submit certified proof of military orders (for active duty & reservist)

USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus Veterans Undergraduate Scholarship

To offer scholarships for full or part-time undergraduate students, pursuing all majors, in all colleges, on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. This scholarship is based on merit and financial need and can be awarded for 2 semesters only. Student must be a military veteran and experiencing a gap (expiration) of federal benefits.

 Eligibility:

(Eligible students must meet the minimum criteria outlined below)

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree from USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus;
  • Submit proof of expiration of V.A. Federal Benefit (Certificate of Eligibility)
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (attending as a full time or part time student)
  • Must be active duty, reservist, or a veteran

Submit certified proof of military orders (for active duty & reservist)

  •  Must be honorable discharge (veterans only)

Warren H. Metzner Scholarship for Military Families

To offer scholarships to military veterans, active duty, reservist, and members of their families who are full or part-time students at all academic levels, pursuing all majors, in all colleges, on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. This scholarship is based on merit and financial need and is renewable up to 8 semesters.

Eligibility:

(Eligible students must meet the minimum criteria outlined below)

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus;
  • Have at least a 2.5 overall (cumulative) GPA;
  • Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours (attending as a full time or part time student);

Must be active duty, reservist, a veteran, or a family member;

  • Submit certified proof of military orders (for active duty & reservist)
  • Submit proof that the family member is/was a dependent (taxes or military orders)
  • Must be honorable discharge (veterans only)

Submit proof of honorable discharge (DD-214, Member 4)

  • Submit current Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Submit the USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus “Student Veteran Scholarship” application

USF Sarasota-Manatee Veterans Legacy Endowment

To support merit scholarship to USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus students who are US military veterans. Applicants must qualify for Veterans Administration benefits and are experiencing a gap in federal funding or a short-term financial emergency. This scholarship is based on merit and can be awarded 1 semester only.

 Eligibility:

(Eligible students must meet the minimum criteria outlined below)

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus;
  •  Have at least a 2.5 overall (cumulative) GPA;
  • Submit proof of expiration of V.A. Federal Benefit (Certificate of Eligibility)

Sarasota Military Officers Foundation Scholarship

To support USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus students veterans who are full or part-time students at all academic levels, pursuing all majors, in all colleges, on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus.

 Eligibility:

(Eligible students must meet the minimum criteria outlined below)

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from USF Sarasota-Manatee campus
  • Attending USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus as a full time or part time student
  • Must be active duty, reservist, or a veteran;

  • Must be honorable discharge (veterans only)

USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus Veterans Supplemental Fund

To support USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus students veterans who are full or part-time students at all academic levels, pursuing all majors, in all colleges, on the USF Sarasota-Manatee campus. To provide competitive awards, scholarships and other academic or program support to USF Sarasota-Manatee Student Veterans to ensure success beyond service. Examples of academic or program support might include conference attendance and associated travel, prep courses and exam fees. Competitive awards will be open to USF Student Veterans with the criteria for the awards determined by the USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus Veterans Success Specialist. These awards may be given several times per semester and judged by a panel selected by the USF Veterans Success Specialist. This is for student veterans only, as determined by the USF Veterans Success Specialist, no restriction on amount of credit hours per semester.

  • Attending USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus as a full time or part time student

Begin Application

The Office of Veteran Success (OVS), and Military & Veterans Success Center at the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee campus is offering scholarships to military, veterans, and dependents.

Please verify each of the scholarships' eligibility in its entirety in order to understand whether or not you qualify.

You are only required to complete one scholarship application. Based on your responses and uploaded documents, the board will determine which scholarship you qualify for award.

Once you begin the application, you CANNOT save it and return to it later. It is recommended that you prepare the required responses and documents prior to starting the application. It is best to type the answers to your questions using word processing software such as Word and then copy your answers into the application.

Missing, incomplete, or late submissions will not be accepted.

You should be prepared to upload supporting documents at the time of your submission. Please use the following list as a guide to identify which documents you will need.

  1. You must be a Sarasota-Manatee home campus student
  2. Understand and meet the eligibility criteria for the scholarships listed on the link above
  3. Be aware that any of the scholarships listed require a minimum enrollment of 6 credit hours
  4. Be aware that most scholarships require a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
  5. Submit VA educational Certificate of Eligibility to show proof of a gap or expiration of VA benefits
  6. Submit the following:
    • For Veterans: Submit a digital copy of your DD Form 214, page/member 4, showing your discharge status. The discharge must be HONORABLE DISCHARGE. Please redact SSN
    • For active duty/reserves/guard: Submit certified proof of military orders
    • For dependents: Submit proof that the family member is/was in the military (military orders, DD-214, birth certificate, taxes, etc.)
  7. Submit a short Personal Essay (250-500 Words), covering the following:
    • Introduction and background about yourself (military and personal)
    • Describe your financial need, and establish how this scholarship can assist you
    • What do you hope to accomplish with your degree and what are your academic goals?
    • Please provide an example of how you have demonstrated leadership (this does not have to be demonstrated through formal or traditional leadership roles). Explain how you have carried these experiences forward in the classroom or in other University activities such as events, groups, and/or organizations.
